The Lightweight Illuminating Transmitter System (LITS) is a family of assault zone (AZ) markers. The modular, dual-battery powered LITS Kit may be tailored by the operator to meet specific AZ mission tasking. The LITS specifically address the special operations need for smaller size, lighter weight, brighter light and longer battery life. The LITS includes a high-intensity white light for overt, active runway marking and other AZ applications where a bright, white light is appropriate. Low-power light emitting diode (LED) markers are available in a variety of standard colors. They may be used for ground traffic control and marking hazards. An infrared (IR) LED marker is also available for covert marking of landing zones (LZ), drop zones (DZ) and pickup zones (PZ). Operates with 9-volt battery box or BA-5598/U, white, color or IR LEDS, anchor able to prevent loss due to jet or prop wash.
